Perth-based labour hire and recruitment services company, Integrated Group, has successfully commenced a nationwide deployment of an IP solution using the Mitel 3300 IP communications platform.
The Integrated Group has approximately 500 office-based staff spread across 48 offices in Australia. It supplies a workforce of 7500 contractors to its clients. To support this highly distributed workforce, Integrated Group is rapidly migrating their entire voice and data communications infrastructure to a single nationwide IP backbone.
Michael Disbury, group ICT manager for Integrated Group said "We are very focused on tightly controlling operating expenses, as well as constantly looking at ways to improve our services. Our team needs to support thousands of contractors out at client sites. With 48 offices in Australia, it is critical for us to provide consistent technology to everybody. Our previous phone system used traditional PABX technology, which was expensive and difficult to support."
With 80 staff at their Perth head office, Integrated Group typically has fewer than 15 staff for each of their branch offices. The highly distributed nature of the business means that delivering consistent services across the entire business is very challenging.

A significant proportion of Integrated Group's phone calls are between team members. The migration to IP telephony will allow significant reductions in communication costs and will enormously simplify the administration work needed to support a highly mobile workforce.

We have now integrated our phone system with our Windows applications, implemented simplified dialling and have an automatic phone directory for the whole company. Team members can even make and receive work phone calls from their laptops, wherever they might be working.
