Following the launch of the Thuraya-3 satellite in January, international satellite communications provider Vizada will now supply its Thuraya services to the Australian market.

The company will be assisted by SatComms Australia, which will provide customer support through a customer service centre.

“There is a real need for a high-quality handheld satellite service providing voice telephony and an affordable internet connection in remote areas,” said SatComms Australia’s David Campbell, business development manager at the company.

According to Vizida, its potential customers include those in the mining and resources industry, transport and fleet operators, and leisure boating companies and individuals.
